I'm not going to getting into trivial use of remailers without encryption as this is covered in the help files for each remailer. If one wants information on that one can just sent a message to any anon remailer with remailer-help in the subject line.
Lists of anonymous remailers with their recent reliability statistics are availailable on the newsgroup alt.privacy.anon-server.
The first step would be to download PGP which is the most popular encryption software. The latest version should be used - 6.5.3 as this is compatable with advanced remailer use for nym accounts (anonymous email ). It is available here. If one has no previous experience with encryption then I would read the "Intro to Cryptography" in the documentation subdirectory. Then read the help file in the main directory called pgp.help .Then set up your own PGP key pair and send it to a server as detailed in the help file.
Added security in remailing
can be obtained by using a piece of software called mixmaster. This is
obtainable at http://www.skuz.net/potatoware/links.html#ENCSOFT
. It should be downloaded and installed into c:\mix .
mix204b45.zip is the file
needed. One doesn't need to run this directly but it does need to be there
for the next step.
It seems very recommendable to use a different mail client for anon postings. There's what seems to me to be an excellent one called Jack B. Nymble with download details on http://www.skuz.net/potatoware/jbn2/ . It includes a comprehensive user manual and beginner's guide. The installation file is setup_jbn214.exe . A great advantage of using such a mailer is that it includes many facilities for creating one's anon posting instructions semi-automatically.
There are 3 files to read which are in html format. They will be in the directory you installed to.

The manuals above give a set of examples which can be worked through on a gradient of complexity.
