As promised, announcing the first worldwide release of the Scientology Copyrights REGISTRATIONS AND RENEWALS Database, the perfect companion to the recently-released Scientology Copyrights TRANSFERS/ASSIGNMENTS Database.

In the newsgroup alt.binaries.scientology, there are several files containing a database of 6,261 Library of Congress records detailing the REGISTRATIONS and RENEWALS of copyrights--since 1978--for intellectual properties created by L. Ron Hubbard, and/or created by others (often carrying the name of L. Ron Hubbard)--all related to Scientology.

Each file is the same database, just in different formats for different operating systems and programs, so that it can be imported into various database and spreadsheet programs.

The files are:

1. SCNREGTX.ZIP (compressed with Zip, for PC users)

SCNREGTX.SIT (compressed with Stuffit, for Mac users)

SCNREGTX.SEA (compressed with Stuffit, self-extracting)

These all contain the same Tab-separated (also called "tab-delimited") text file, which can be imported into most database or spreadsheet programs. This is the most universally compatible format, so if in doubt, download one of these.

2. SCNREGFM.SIT (compressed with Stuffit, for Mac users)

SCNREGFM.SEA (compressed with Stuffit, self extracting)

SCNREGFM.ZIP (compressed with Zip, for PC users)

These contain a FileMaker Pro version of the database, which is compatible for importing into FileMaker Pro, or into any program that supports this file type.

3. SCNREGDB.ZIP (compressed with Zip, for PC users)

These contain a ".DBF" version of the database, which is compatible for importing into dBASE III and dBASE IV, or into any program that supports this file type.

4. SCNREGDF.ZIP (compressed with Zip, for PC users)

These contain a ".DIF" version of the database, which is compatible for importing into spreadsheets like VisiCalc, or into any program that supports this file tyoe.

5. SCNREGWK.ZIP (compressed with Zip, for PC users)

These contain a ".WKS" version of the database, which is compatible for importing into Lotus 1-2-3, or into any program that supports this file type.

The compiling of the information contained in this database, just as with the earlier Scientology copyrights TRANSFERS/ASSIGNMENTS database, consumed hundreds of man-hours of time, at a cost in the thousands.

You can import this same information into your own database (or spreadsheet) program by downloading the file listed above that is most compatible for your system/programs. Once you have the records in a database, many comparisons and date-related searches are possible, revealing much that the parties involved never expected to have revealed.

For instance, who registered the copyrights for the OT levels? For NOTS? For the Introspection Rundown? When were they registered? Who has filed a rash of renewals since 1993? It will be a surprise to you. And all the answers are contained in this database.

These records, until now, resided only in the arcane and musty databases of the Library of Congress, and were accessible only in formats that made them extremely difficult to process and evaluate, or were very expensive to get. They were virtually inaccessible.

Until now.

If you are able to convert these tab-delimited files into a database, you are urged to propagate it by any manner available to you. The information contained in these files, being from the Library of Congress, is all PUBLIC INFORMATION, and is not copyrighted or protected in any way. It can, and should, be distributed far and wide.

If you would like to import this information into a database, here is the information you will need to know:

This database contains all the relevant fields from the Library of Congress's database. The suggested field definitions below (which are the ones used in the original creation of this database) have been named to describe the actual contents of each field, but the field definitions also contain the 4-letter abbreviations (e.g., TITL, ADTI, EDST, CLNA, etc.) used for that field in the Library of Congress database. This database contains the following fields in this exact order:

This database is a gift to all litigants and combatants engaged in a struggle against the totalitarian regime currently in control of these intellectual properties.

Here, in the database files referenced above, are 6,261 incontestible, incontrovertible facts, for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

Use them wisely. And spread the word.
