The meter dials program is for drawing the scales for meter movements, TA dials and sensitivity dials.
It creates a large .bmp file which can be edited and then reduced to the desired size.
When entering measurements any units can be used as it is only the relative measurements that are used by the program.
It doesn't number the scales as this is more easily done in a picture editor than a program.
Its intended to do the most difficult parts of the artwork not create the final product.
The parameters entered on the screen are:
Meter width: actual width of the complete dial.
Meter Height: height of the dial.
Meter top to centre: This is the distance from the top of the dial to the centre of the needle movement. It is ok if this is below the dial.
Inner, middle and outer radius: These are the radii of the arcs drawn.
Scale degrees: The angle of the scale.
Pen width is the width of the markings drawn.
The 3 check boxes are for electing whether or not one wants circles drawn on the scale.
BMP rel size: This is the size of the .bmp file created relative to the screen preview. The larger this number is the better quality achieved. The file size produced is proportional to the square of this number.
The file produced is called mdials.bmp in the same directory as the
program is installed to. It is saved automatically.
The file size is reduced considerably by converting to a .gif file.
It's easy enough to do with any picture editor but would have meant fiddling
about too much in the program which isn't intended as a commercial product.

Here's a couple of examples - a TA dial and a 240 degree needle dial:
